BCCI participates in the training of trainers on compliance and forensics in the private sector

As part of the joint program of the council of Europe and the European Union towards an enhanced democratic governance in the southern Mediterranean areas (the Southern Program 2), Mr. Issa Mousa, the secretary of the council of the BCCI and the representative of the Federation of chambers of commerce & industry in Palestine participated in the training of the trainers on compliance and forensics in the private sector in Europe Council in Strasbourg in France;. The training also included representatives form Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco as well as the state of Palestine.



The training addressed a variety of issues topped by the importance of the identification of governance and anti-corruption systems in the Mediterranean countries, in addition to the international laws against corruption and the international indicators of transparency and corruption. Ending with the concept of compliance, which is a vital part of governance and the importance of its application in all economic establishments and relevant institutions, aiming to assist board members and decision-makers in auditing the application of regulations, and adhering to standards established by them, as this application of standards and laws leads to profit increase and hence to economic growth.



Further, the training discussed several other topics such as; deception, fraud, bribery their capacity to reach a criminal level as well as their risks and dangers, investigation mechanisms, the acquisition of investigation skills and their potential reflection on both the private and public sectors.

At the conclusion of this training session, Mr.Issa Mousa expressed the readiness of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce to cooperate with the Council of Europe and the European Union to organize courses and activities that help raise awareness, prevention of corruption, and disseminate the importance of compliance and its application to the private sector companies.
