Event Date: 22 September 2023

In partnership with  "Monsha’ti," the National Framework for Supporting and Developing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, and the Legal Clinic at An-Najah University, Bethlehem Chamber held a meeting aimed to shed light on the legal framework surrounding employment contracts and the obligations that employers have toward their employees.

The workshop began with Dr. Hazboun extending a warm welcome to all participants and expressing gratitude for the efforts put forth by the management of the National Framework for Supporting Enterprises. He emphasized the significance of this workshop, as it serves to clarify the rights and duties of both parties involved in employment contracts, ultimately ensuring the protection of their rights and the proper adherence to the provisions outlined in the Palestinian Labor Law No. (7) of 2000.
Dr. Naeem Salama, a legal advisor of the Palestinian Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, as well as a law professor at AL-Najah University, provided an overview of the importance of legally regulating employment contracts. He discussed various aspects, including contract types, duration, and the factors that may lead employers to terminate such agreements. The discussion also covered topics like employee rights, end-of-service benefits, working conditions, terms of employment, and leave policies, among others.
