Updating BCCI’s research on traditional handicrafts

Dr. Samir Hazboun, Chairman, signed a MOU with VIS foundation represented by Mr. Luigi Biscgelia, to update the study that was previously prepared by the BCCI in 2008 on the traditional handicrafts of Bethlehem. The signature of this MOU comes under the umbrella of the BCCI’s partnership in the project that aims to develop the handi-craft sector in the district of Bethlehem implemented by VIS. One of the most impor-tant aspects of this project is to create a forum that represents all the niches of handi-crafts to enhance the possibility of promoting and marketing handmade products in European markets. A main activity to do so is to issue a catalog of traditional prod-ucts. Another activity of the project is to encourage the youth’s involvement in the crafts sector, in addition to educational workshops to create awareness on the impor-tance of this sector.
