Final phase of touristic signage project was finally implemented

BCCI has implemented the final phase of the signage project funded by USAID through Compete project for tourism development DAI. The final phase included fixing the welcoming signs in Bethlehem, Beit Jala, and Beit Sahour. It also included fixing informative signs containing a map in addition to information provided by the crew of the Ministry of Tourism about all the main religious and historical places in several places in the governorate which were agreed upon previously with the engineers of the concerned municipalities.
The first phase included fixing directional signs for tourists and both local & international visitors in accordance to international standards& specifications. This project was supervised by a team consists of the Ministry of Tourism, Governorate representatives, and the benefited village councils in coordination with the Palestinian police, and the traffic police particularly.
BCCI has carried out several projects in the governorate, and this project is the most important of which, since it comes in accordance to the urging governorate need to have such signs to guide tourists, and visitors .This project also considered as an opening for another ones within tourism development in Bethlehem .
It also aims implicitly at organizing the traffic flow, and to lessen pressure in some streets. It aims to manifest the religious, historical, and hiking tracks in the governorate especially in Bethlehem, Beit Jala, Beit Sahour, Ubeidiya, Al-Khader, Artas, and Battir.
