BCCI in collaboration with YMCA organized a workshop to promote and help integrate people with special needs in work environment within companies and private sector institutions.

YMCA –the rehabilitation project in corporation with BCCI have held a workshop in Grand park hotel in Bethlehem; aims at dissemination the diversity and integration culture in work environment within companies and institutions that represent the private sector; to motivate them to contribute in enhancing the reality of full and effective participation for people with disabilities in the labor market .
It was attended by 20 audiences representing private sector companies, Palestinian General Union of People with Disabilities, and some institutions such as Bethlehem University, and each of Beit Sahour ,and Beit Fajjar municipalities. At the beginning of the workshop each of Mr. Nader Abu Amsha & Dr. Samir Hazboun welcomed the attendance, and thanked them for their interest.
Mr. Mahran Tawil presented a material about disability definitions form different aspects that concentrated and urged to adapt the rights, social and interactive aspects for disables. It also included the mechanisms and the techniques of designing an integrating and comprehensive work environment that receive, and employ people with disabilities like other ordinary people.
The presentation also seek to educate work principals about the diversity and the integration of people with disabilities in the work environment, and the importance of changing stereotyped common concepts about emerging people with disabilities in work environment. Also the importance of compatibility, and prepare it in accordance to engineering criteria, and codify the policy of diversity and integration in the policies of private sectors environment. After that a real experiences were presented by people with disabilities who are working in the private sector in order to share with audience the most important factors that perhaps contribute negatively in the production process for people with disabilities, and push them for avoiding it and contributing in changing of which. Then they discussed employment experiences and the possibility of employing people with disabilities in companies and municipalities through encouraging them and highlight the benefits they will gain from employing them.
At the end, the MOU was given to companies to be discussed, and it was agreed to follow up the workshop results in the near future, taking into consideration that YMCA and the BCCI recommend the audience to revise the MOU, and to give suggestions in order to adjust it in accordance to the singed sides.
