Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Japanese ambassador examine potential avenues for mutual cooperation

Dr. Samir Hazboun, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bethlehem Chamber, met with the representative of Japan to the State of Palestine, Ambassador H.E. Yoichi Nakashima, and his accompanying delegation to discuss the reality and developments of the economic situation in Bethlehem Governorate, as well as ways to strengthen joint cooperation. Mr. Jamal Handal, a member of the Board of Directors, and Mr. Ala' Adili, the General Director, attended the meeting.

Dr. Hazboun welcomed the Japanese ambassador and thanked him for his visit, expressing his desire to work with him in a manner that contributes to expanding the possibilities of bilateral collaboration. Dr. Hazboun presented an in-depth analysis of the current economic conditions in Bethlehem Governorate and Palestine as a whole, as well as the outlook for the country's economy, particularly in terms of exports. He stated that Palestinian businessmen are interested in establishing economic ties with their Japanese counterparts, acquiring agencies from Japanese firms, and requesting assistance in granting the required facilities in this area. In his stead, Japanese Ambassador Nakashima expressed his delight at visiting  Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce & Industry  and praised the governorate's economic potential. He also stated his willingness to pursue Dr. Hazboun's suggestions to activate and expand trade interchange, and additionally to introduce Japanese import and export procedures and financial rules.
